DIY Measure Service

It is finally available for the DIY Customer, a measure and consult service. We know some of you have the ability to install yourself, but still made need a little help ordering from online sources.

The reason we’ve decided to offer this is because we’ve seen the boxes of blinds piled up in the garage after someone tried to measure and didn’t understand the various nuances that come with window coverings. There are many, many things to consider that you many not know. We’ll list a few of them:

  • Uneven windows and how to measure in spite of this

  • Inside Mount vs Outside Mount & variations to headrails

  • Control options and how to measure correctly for each one

  • Motorization options-don’t forget to order a remote and chargers

  • Minimum depth requriements

  • Various bracket options which can affect where you can install shades/blinds

  • Custom Shutter Requirements

  • Warranty and Repair Options

  • What to do when your window has no trim

  • Where to mount drapery rods(this is the biggest mistake we see)

  • Making sure drapery rods are heavy enough for the drapery ordered

  • Understanding how to measure for drapery length with rods/rings/top treatment styles

  • Light gaps & fabric deductions

Here’s how our DIY Service works-

  • For the best results, we need to know what type of treatment and the source you want to order from. Without this information, we are not responsible for measurements not fitting for whatever you order.

  • We measure, look at the company specs to make sure you get what you want and can install it the way you want it. We leave you the measurements to order and install yourself.

  • We can help you choose the right treatments for various locations ie: sliding doors, custom shape windows etc.

  • You order the product, unpackage and install yourself. It is up to you and the company you ordered from to handle all warranty issues.

  • If there is a measurement done incorrectly, and the product was not changed and all information about the product was known at time of installation, your installation fee will be reimbursed. We will help with the re-order of the product and assist with 50% of the cost of the product.

  • We also offer a FULL SERVICE consult, measure, order and install which puts 100% of the responsibility on us.

DIY Measure-unknown product $250.00 (up to 20 windows) -Added ladder fee for windows over 8’ $150.00 -Added fee for creating a template of custom shape $75.00

DIY Measure & consult knowing product to be ordered $175.00 (up to 20 windows) -Added ladder fee for windows over 8’ $150.00-Added fee for creating a template of custom shape $75.00

DIY Install Service- You order and hire us to install for you. Price varies and has to be quoted per project based on what you’re ordering.
